Clip-less Couponing
Remember the days when things were done manually or as some refer to as organically? Coupons used to require hours of accumulating, browsing, clipping, sorting and saving. If you purchased the Sunday newspaper just for the sales circulars, you know how time consuming that could be. You then had to browse the pages of ads to find out what store had what product on sale, and which ones offered double coupons so that you could plan your shopping route accordingly.
Coupons are defined as certificates that provide customers discounts on goods or services. They can be found in grocery stores, retail outlets, manufactured stores, online, and the list goes on. Now they’re on your smart phone!
Couponing with your smart phone
Our smart phones seem to do everything these days so why shouldn’t they help us with couponing? We can text, take pictures, edit, store and share them, check our emails, go online, research, open multiple sites and play games. Now our smart phones are allowing us to use digital coupons. Every smart phone has its own operating software, and icons that allow you to download applications of your interest. In the Android phone it is under the name “market,” or “play store,” with Apple phones “app store,” and so forth.
How to use the coupon app on your smart phone
It is quite simple. You can search ‘coupons’ from their huge listing. Some of the coupons will actually entitle you to free services and goods. There will be varying types and levels of coupons depending on the retailers. The coupon application is generally free, but you may find a few coupons that cost $.99 or more (but the savings would be much more in those instances). There are coupons for fast food,
grocery stores, entertainment, arts and crafts, restaurants, clothing stores and more. Once you install the coupon app of your choice, you will see a list of the stores or restaurants that participate. You can then choose as many as you want.
Cool things to do with Android ‘play store’
On the android play store you can find the coupon for free by the name ‘grocery smart’- officially known as Grocery Smarts Lite. Here you can view circulars and easily create your shopping list. When you click on the coupon icon it will ask you to create a new list. Once you choose ‘create new’, you must select where you live. A list of participating stores, restaurants and so forth will pop up. As technology
becomes more popular more retailers will be adding their names to the list, knowing the huge benefit word of mouth has in relation to sales. Using this new technology you no longer need to panic if you left your coupon wallet at home, as long as you have your smart phone handy, you can have any discount available!
Have you used clip-less couponing? Are there any other cool things you’ve discovered while using this app? Are stores in your particular area participating? Please share your ideas with us in the comment section.
